Muted and loud

Still can't get enough of my old knit top from Mango. I paired it with a Zara bandage mini in hot pink and my Charles & Keith gladiator sandals.

I wore a loose top because we ate dinner with our relatives at Sambo Kojin in Eastwood, an eat-all-you-can Japanese restaurant. :)

TMF goes to the 2nd Mega Brands Sale

Nin and I got quite lucky because we got invited to the 2nd Mega Brands sale today (a day before they open it to the public! = lots of stuff to choose from!). As can be observed through the grainy, blurred pictures that I have (sorry 'bout that), I got a little too excited to go around and see what the booths had to offer.

Here are some of the event pictures I shot with my phone:

There were booths that offered health and wellness appliances, trendy clothes,

organic beauty products such as argan oil and cellulite removers, various brands of shoes (for ladies, men and children! such as Cole Hann, Manels, Crocs, Vans and rubber shoes brands),
cosmetics such as Nyx products (from Digital Traincase) - great selection of lipsticks which sell for 150php,
branded clothes such as Giordano and RCBC bankard credit cards

Are you ready to see what I bought?
Black OPI Shatter
Hahaha. I'm still in poverty-mode so that's all I bought. But don't worry, I left as a happy lady :)

Intrigued about the booths? Well, entrance is free! So go visit the 2nd Mega Brands Sale at SM Megamall Megatrade Hall 2&3, 5th Floor on September 30 to October 2, 2011.

What. If.

"What - and - If ... are two words as non-threatening as words can be.
But put them together side-by-side and they have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life:
What if? What if? What if?"
-Letters to Juliet

Chanced upon Kate Winslet's Song "What If"on youtube and it's been on loop in my ipod since (you know how I get addicted to songs). Just watch it!

The song is so moving and beautiful :) And maybe I've been living under a rock but I didn't know Kate Winslet could sing! Amazing girl!

"Well I tried
But I had to draw the line.
And still this question keeps on spinning in my mind
What if I had never let you go?"

S tries the zip line at Outland Adventure Davao

I am much braver than I think! I went to Davao for work last week but we managed to sneak in some fun activities to try. Basically, the zipline was the highlight of our trip (aside from the real reason why we were there, of course).
That's the city hall and to your left is a durian fountain
I must tell you that I'm afraid of heights (so please excuse all my 'fraidy cat poses, I promise you I wasn't posing..hahaha.) but I try to live my life on the edge (haha, I kid I kid) by challenging myself and facing my fears. Well, we do only live once so we better enjoy it right? :)

Left pic: Gearing up! As you can see I was soooo nervous. Haha.
Above: my officemate, JM, and I posing infront of the map
Below left: after riding the shuttle, I saw the first launch pad!!
Below right: my first challenge - climb the launch pad
The view from the first zipline's launch pad

Woohoo! I'm ready to go!
The view from the second zipline's launchpad

I was really nervous to try the superman position so JM agreed to go first (hehe).

After it all. I survived the 2 ziplines and enjoyed the experience!

I would also just like to commend the Outland Adventure crew who were all very friendly and helpful. You made my first zipline experience much more memorable. :)

Interested to try longest zipline in Davao? Visit them at Diversion road, Maa Davao (across The GAP farm) or check out their website

Beauty loot

I just want to share with you my latest cosmetic buys..
My bestfriend introduced this product to Ninin and me. I like how soothing the metal roller ball is but I prefer putting 3 dots of the product on my under eye instead of gliding it. It tends to spread too much of the product.

Other purchases are:
SpaRitual polishes in Smoke n' Mirrors (gray) and in Delight (mint green) - according to the SA these are organic!
Deborah Lippmann in No More Drama by Mary J. Blige (sultry golden caramel) and in Across the Universe (blazing blue and metallic green glam in sheerest navy with lotsa sparkle!)
Stila lip color in Intriguing (hot pink) and lip & cheek stain in Acai Crush (dark red)

There's something about buying beautifully colored things that's so soothing and relaxing. Don't you agree? Haha, excuses excuses.

Swensen's: Happiness Never Melts

...and finally! I got the chance to drop by the newly opened Swensen's branch in Mall of Asia!

I have been on an ice cream addiction for weeks already, I would find myself eating ice cream almost everyday but no matter what I ate, I could never fully satisfy my craving-- that is, until I indulged in Swensen's one rainy Saturday!

The store was packed and we had to wait for around ten minutes to get seats, but tell me if this is not worth the wait:

Or how about this?

Waaaah, I wanna cry! I want more, more, more! I tell you, their ice cream is INCREDIBLE! Even the plain vanilla flavor is outstanding! I cannot even compare it to anything. It's just mind-blowing!

Apart from ice cream, we had coffee as well:

Choco latte
My gawd! The coffee is outstanding! It doesn't even taste like coffee--it tastes like ice cream! Super good! I got me a mocha latte (sorry, no picture) and I felt like a little girl opening gifts on Christmas eve! It was so creamy and yummy and sinfully good!

I cannot wait to go back to Swensen's for another round of heavenly ice cream! Truly, eating their delightful treats is happiness materialized! --and like their tagline, at Swensen's Happiness Never Melts :)

Swensen's is found at the G/F of SM Mall of Asia, near the Department store

Happy birthday Mother!

My mom and I don't usually give gifts to each other on occasions people would expect one to exchange gifts (i.e. birthdays, christmas, etc.) We have a weird relationship gift-wise, she and I. She would surprise me with gifts on random days but I can never expect her to give me a "gift" on my birthday itself or on Christmas eve.

Well, today's her birthday and for some reason, I felt compelled to buy her a gift. I wanted it to be traditional and in a way, corny and generic, just because. My cousin suggested I get her a personalized gift so I got her a mug:

It really does look like my mom!...and that's our toy poodle Cookie :)

On the back side is ME! Lol! :)
I really, really like my gift for her!--especially co'z the cartoon image really does resemble her! So cute!

So where did I have this gift personalized? At It's Personal!

The items are all fully customizable. You choose a cartoon head, cartoon body, and add accessories if you want. You may even opt to put an actual picture of the person with a cartoon body but personally, I think it's cuter if you stick to the cartoons. I mean, isn't it nice to see a cartoon version of yourself?

The best part of all of these is that you can get your item in 20 minutes! How cool is that??

I am loving my corny and traditional gift for my mom--more so because I think the cartoon "Ninin" does resemble me! Lol! :P

Happy happy birthday Mama! I love you!

It's Personal is located at the G/F Main Mall of SM Mall of Asia, by the skating rink :)

Apple of my pie

Last night, mom brought home one of my favorite pastries-- another of S&R's yummy treats: THE apple pie.

Looks like any other apple pie but trust me it is super good! Even Richard Gomez attests to this-- actually, he was the main reason we tried S&R's apple pie in the first place and true enough! It does live up to its reputation!
I love how simple and traditional the pie is! No drama, no nothing, just good ol' yummy apple pie :) And oh, if you don't like too much cinnamon on your apple pie like me, then this pie is definitely for you!
I also love how chunky the apples are! You can actually bite into it unlike others where the apple looks more like jam rather than fresh apples in a pie.

S&R really is full of amazing goodies! First they have the BEST cheese pizza in the world, second they house the yummy Blue Bunny ice cream and now THIS! Wow, I cannot get enough of S&R!

*A whole apple pie costs PhP249.99

Ensembles x Choc & Yvette Religioso

Ensembles is one of my favorite brands when it comes to corporate wear. Their items are so fashionable and really redefines power dressing-- perfect for us young professionals!

Well, after the success of the its Designer Series by James Reyes, Debbie Co and Louis Claparols, Ensembles is proud to bring on board the design duo, Choc and Yvette Religioso for its special Holiday 2011 Collection!

I'm always excited when brands collaborate with local designers. It is a great way to mainstream designers and introduce them to the masses--making available designer items which is often beyond the purchasing power of most Filipinos.

Without further adieu, we present to you our favorites from Ensembles Holiday 2011 Collection featuring Choc & Yvette Religioso!
So sexy! Love love the details on the lower part of the dress!
The pleated top reminds me of the Black Swan. So creative!
This is love! I am so getting this!
The collar reminds me of House of Harlow! It's so very chic!
Love this! It has jetsetter written all over it!
Love love the bows on the top! So pretty!

I'm really happy Ensembles did this collaboration with the Religioso sisters.

Sisters Yvette Religioso-Ilagan and Choc Religioso-Dayrit started by doing weddings in 2005 and later on started their own clothing brand and finally opened its flagship store in 2006. Religioso’s signature designs are pleats and bows: classic pieces that offer a dash of style in creative details-- oh yes, yes, God is in the details!

We are so excited for the new collection! Watch out for it when it hits stores on September 16!
