TMF Signature Starbucks flavor

It's not a secret that Sophia and I love Starbucks. Much more than the coffee, we love it because we have a lot of fond memories together there. Starbucks has been a big part of our friendship-- I remember so fondly when one time, S brought me a cup of coffee to cheer me up after a heart break. Yes, we are Starbucks poster girls and we're proud of it!

Over the years we've been trying to experiment with different Starbucks coffee combinations out of boredom and/or spontaneity (check our old post here). For our blog anniversary this year, we wanted to introduce a TMF Signature Starbucks flavor but since we were both very busy during our anniversary month (September!), it is only now that we got the chance to push through with our plan.

Introducing, The Two Miss Fits' Signature Starbucks Flavor Mix: Vanilla Almond White Chocolate Mocha

What you need:

Hot White Chocolate Mocha

The Miss Fits' Signature Starbucks Mix

Ordering is super easy. Just ask for white chocolate mocha plus one (1) pump vanilla and one (1) pump almond :) We can't really describe the taste for you. You just have to trust us on this!

We are loving our signature Starbucks mix. I think it describes us very well. It has a lot of dimension to it and though people may think it's a weird combination, it actually works well together.

We hope next time you drop by Starbucks, you give our flavor mix a try and we hope you love it as much as we do ;)

Love from us,
Ninin and Sophia

Falling

A good ol' friend of mine introduced Tyler Ward's song to me a few weeks ago and I couldn't stop gushing over how sweet and positive it is. Without further ado, I present to you his music video, featuring Amy G.

I'm falling in love with you
Just before the strike of midnight
You said this could be the good life
Then you said goodbye
Hope that I get to see you soon

Don't you just wanna find the one to fall in love with, too? Haha..
Here's to a love-filled Thursday to all of us! :)

Disney Princesses Recreated

I don't know why Nin and I have such a fascination with Disney princesses. Maybe it's because we're the kids who grew up watching those cartoons? And yeah, we're both waiting for our 'fairytale ending'. Haha.

Anyway, do you guys remember our old post about how Disney princesses would look like in today's fashion? Here's something similar which I saw in Yahoo. Jirka Väätäinen, a graphic design student at the Arts University College at Bournemouth in the UK, decided to recreate the princesses by combining elements from different photos of women who resemble the characters.
I kinda see Beyonce in Esmeralda, Salma Hayek/Sophia Vergara in Jasmine, and Hilary Swank/Jennifer Garner in Aurora. Hehehe.

Anyway, to see more of Jirka's other works, drop by his blog by clicking here.

Hooked on Matahari

My family is a snack freak. We love snacking. We live on chips, nuts, biscuits, pastries and other "snack" foods. Well a few weeks ago, mom brought home some goodies from Matahari and I've been bingeing on them since then!
Australian Cornick, 60php/100grams
The cornick was what first got me hooked. It is unbelievably addicting! It's sweet, salty and a little spicy-- really an explosion of flavor! Just thinking about it makes me drool @_@

I googled all the branches of Matahari because I wanted so much to buy more of the cornick (I finished it in one sitting!) but the branches I saw were all too far :( I already accepted the fact that I had to wait 'til the weekend to get my hands on some cornick when a familiar sight came into view:

Matahari in Mall of Asia!!! Haha, I practically ran when I saw it!
I spot my Australian Cornick!
I was pleasantly surprised to see a kiosk in MOA. I didn't know they had stalls. Mom bought the cornick from Robinson's Ermita and the one there was an actual store. I was sooooo happy!

My colleague at work whom I shared my new-found Matahari addiction told me that she gets the spicy cassava chips. So by her recommendation, I bought some for myself too:
Mild Spicy Casssava Chips 75php/100 grams
Yummy! Snacking on cassava chips is so interesting! It's spicy and cheesy, you'll almost forget you're eating cassava but it has this unique after taste that will remind you that they're cassava not potato chips. Really tasty!

I am so happy with my Matahari finds. I plan to get the Vegetable Chips next time!--woot, can't wait!

Have you tasted this? Caramel Cheesecake

I have been on a major ice cream addiction phase (again) for the last three weeks. And aside from the added bulges in my stomach, I've also added a couple of flavors to my ice cream selection list. Say hello to Selecta's Caramel Cheesecake:

One word: Yummy

Freeway x Manansala

Last October 18, Sophia and I trooped to Glorietta 5 for the launch of the 6th installment of Freeway's National Artists Collection Series featuring National Artist for Visual Arts, Vicente Manansala.

The lobby and The Row at Glorietta 5 was transformed into an events hub as fashion and art lovers came together to celebrate the works of Manansala and check out the 22-piece collection from Freeway.
At the lobby of Glorietta 5, guests can get their portraits made by Kunst Pilipino Artists
The event was hosted by celebrities, Tim Yap and Divine Lee-- both chosen for their vibrant personalities, personifying the Manansala "colorful" trademark.
I was so in love with Tim Yap's Manansala jacket! I would have bought one if they sold it.  Sorry you can't see the detail, but it's the only pic I have :( --and oh, one of my favorite bloggers is here too, say hi to Chuvaness! aka Cecile Van Straten :)

After a brief AVP on Vicente Manansala, the fashion show began.
The pieces are really eye-catching and definitely a head-turner!

The shoes are all from Carmina Villarroel's line, Muñiz shoes

The pieces are all so beautiful! But some of the items that really caught our eye are these babies:

Aren't they a beaut? We cannot wait to get our hands on these! You'll know where to find us this weekend!

Congratulations Freeway for the successful launch and for (another) beautiful collection! Really, the brand deserves much accolade for its campaign to incorporate Filipino Art and mainstream Fashion.

Thank you so much for inviting us! We always have the best times during Freeway events! Again, congratulations and more power to the brand!

STOMPtacular!

See what the noise is about! See Stomp!-- I am apparently still reliving the hype from the show a couple of hours ago. But really, Stomp is a must-watch!
I think the reason Stomp is so appealing is because it has no words-- and yet everyone can understand it. It has no melody and doesn't follow certain rules and because of it, it cuts across all cultures. Basically, Stomp is a dance, it is moving and creating music based on the rhythm of one's own heart.

It's amazing how the performers turn simple everyday objects into musical instruments and create a whole orchestra out of it. They used brooms, cans, kitchen sinks, newspapers, matches, rubber tubes, the list goes on and on! I love the performance using lighters the most. So entertaining!
This is one of the funniest numbers! So creative and hilarious!
Thank you Citibank for bringing Stomp to Manila, it's really a once in a lifetime experienc!

Thank you too to my good friend Kaye for going with me! :)
Stomp is showing at the Cultural Center of the Philippines from 18-23 October 2011. Get your tickets now!

Closer to the edge

At times I feel not myself I gravitate towards blacks and edgy accessories just so I could feel more "me" again.

The past few weeks has sent me into a whirlwind of emotions. It's difficult when you're confused about your feelings and harder when you don't even know what you're supposed to feel. You just go into that point that you don't feel anything--except as they say, the lack of emotion cannot be considered an emotion.
It's much easier to walk away from things that bring you pain and confusion but I realized, walking away isn't the best solution. Our subconscious always creeps up at us and at a moment of weakness reminds us of the pain we so try to forget.
There are so many things that baffle us in this world but I've come to realize that some things are just not meant to be understood. They are just supposed to be left a mystery. As what I've reminded myself, "all things happen for a reason"
Don't worry about me, this is just a phase. I'll be okay :)

"Will I ever laugh again?"
"Yes. When something is really, really funny"

Sweet n' salty

Lately I've been having the weirdest cravings-- I wanted something sweet but salty. At first I thought I was just craving bibingka (it is sweet and salty) but then after eating bibingka, I still wanted something else-- apparently, it wasn't bibingka I was craving-- it was just the taste of something sweet and salty.

Well, that something was satisfied by Coffeebean and Tea Leaf's Salted Caramel Infused Cappuccino!

I've always been curious of the flavor, I've often found myself wanting to try it but I never did until a few days ago and I am so glad I finally discovered how tasty it is!

I know the flavor is not for everybody, I think you have to be of the adventurous kind to appreciate the taste.

To describe it, it's sweet but ends in a salty note. The froth is a bit salty with the coffee itself sweet and creamy. Yes, it's that bizarre!--but it really, really works! Yum!

One tip though, this is best taken in a cup like so:
It just doesn't work the same when it's in a paper cup like the one I had above. I think it's because some of the salt is in the rim of the cup so the experience isn't the same with a paper cup. This only means you should dine in!-- and while you're at it, you may want to bring a copy of your favorite book for the perfect coffee shop experience ;)

Under the tangerine sky

GIVEAWAY UPDATE: Hi everyone! We shall be announcing the winner of the My Memories Suite giveaway this weekend!

The weather has gone haywire again. Just when I thought I'd be basking under the beautiful sun, dark clouds filled the sky and down came torrents of rain :( --but hey, that's no reason to frown! Life is beautiful and despite the gloomy weather, there are so many more reasons to smile!

Orange is my favorite color.  I think it's one of the more versatile colors. It could mean happiness like waking up to a bright sunny day; and it could even mean peace or serenity like that whimsical feeling you get when you watch the sun set; or it could also mean strength or toughness like how it's so neon and loud. I love Orange-- if I had to choose a color to describe me, this would be it.

I'm channeling the preppy school girl here in celebration (?) of my last week of classes before sembreak! It's supposed to be "hell week" but for some reason I feel less stressed now than weeks ago. Maybe it's just because my perception changed-- like I'm extremely looking forward to the sembreak, that I just want to breeze through all the daunting requirements; no pressure; no stress :P
Hope you all find reasons to smile these days. Always remember that life is beautiful! Throw away your worries and just live!-- one day a time :)

Jar of hearts

You probably already know this song or you've probably heard it a lot of times but I just wanted to share with you Maddi Jane's version of it..

Sorry guys, I heard this song on the radio and suddenly felt a wee bit sentimental... Well anywaaaay, doesn't she sound good? She's only 11, by the way. :)

It took so long just to feel alright
Remember how to put back the light in my eyes
I wish I had missed the first time that we kissed
'Cause you broke all your promises
And now you're back
You don't get to get me back

Nivea Pure and Natural

I'm not a fan of baby wipes. I never liked it as a kid and is still in a love-hate relationship with it now that I'm older. But I think I've found the baby wipes that doesn't make me feel squeemish and I find myself actually learning to love it:

This is part of Nivea's Pure & Natural line. Its scent is so refreshing and leaves your skin feeling soft and cool. I love it so much that despite how "big" it is (compared with other baby wipes), I keep it in my bag.

It's seriously a great year for Nivea! They have so many amazing new products :)
