The understated elegance of Filipino Cuisine at Chef Laudico's Bistro Filipino

Two weekends ago, we dined at Chef Laudico's Bistro Filipino. Dad celebrated his (40th, according to Chef) birthday there with our relatives.

Situated far away from the popular dining spots of Serendra and Boni High Street, Chef Laudico preferred that his restaurant be slightly hidden, nestled in one of the quiet corners of BGC. If you ask me, mystery does add more elegance to his restaurant.

While waiting for the guests to arrive, they served some pandesal and butter. I didn't want to get a piece because I thought it was just regular pandesal and I didn't want to get full . But when my cousin told me that he read online that it's a must-try, I eagerly tasted one.

Well, my cousin was right! I'm not sure though if it was the bread or the butter that was great. Maybe it was both? Now, on to the beautifully plated, delicious food!

Trio of Appetizers (Angus Tapa Wrap, Ubod Lumpia Cone, Pork Sisig Shooter)
Soup: Adobo Shitake Cappuccino
Main Course 1: Adobo Overload
Main Course 2: Crispy Pata Binagoongan
Main Course 3: Grilled Chicken with Sweet Potato and Blue Cheese Puree in Bistek Onion Sauce

Dessert 1: Molten Chocolate Cake
Dessert 2: Halo Halo Sherbet
Dessert 3: Suman and Coconut Panna Cotta Savarin

Opinions
On the appetizers: Loved the sisig shooter and its quail egg chaser! Was surprised with the ubod cone because I don't really eat lumpiang ubod (I finished this one even if it was a bit too oily). The tapa wrap reminded me of kalbi.
On the soup: I got confused by the soup because its consistency was like coffee but it sure did taste like adobo. So I guess it is indeed an ADOBO CAPPUCCINO ey?
On the main course: The meats were all well marinated. Everything was tasty and cooked to perfection!
On the desserts: The desserts' recipes are courtesy of Chef Jackie Laudico. I loved the homemade ice cream and the molten chocolate cake (I might be partly biased 'coz I'm a chocoholic). Though not a fan of Filipino desserts, I appreciated the suman panna cotta (sans the coconut) and the halo-halo (sans the beans).
On their service: I love that the Chefs socialize with their patrons. They visited each table and made small talk. I think what they do is a really good PR strategy. They make their customers feel special and appreciated. How do I know that? Well, we felt that way after talking to them. Hahaha!

Verdict
EVERYTHING tasted great. The food we ordered showed how well Chef Laudico planned and created the recipes of each dish he serves in his restaurant.
I wouldn't mind trying their more intense set menus (8-course menu or 12-course menu) but I probably won't eat lunch before going there. Hahaha!

What are you waiting for? Visit them at G/F Net Square (Ericsson) Building, 28th St. cor. 3rd Avenue Bonifacio Global City (BGC) Taguig (situated near UCC and McDonalds) or give them a call and reserve a table 856.05.41.
