My Tagaytay favorite: Buon Giorno

I luuuuuuurve Buon Giorno! I've only been to their branch in Tagaytay once, but the experience has been so wonderful, the restaurant immediately got in my "most memorable" list. Last Christmas, we were supposed to dine there but the place was fully reserved already we ended up going elsewhere. Well, for my birthday, I called ahead to make sure that I got to spend my birthday there. Well, I'm super glad I did, because as expected, Buon Giorno did not disappoint!

The traffic was really bad at Aguinaldo Highway that I thought we would lose our reservation. I reserved us for 12:30-1:00pm, and we got there at exactly 1:00pm! Well, not only did we NOT lose our reservation, the place was not packed at all! *Phew! Even if we were walk in clients, they would have been able to accommodate us. I guess the reservation thing is just for special occasions :P

Before anything else, I apologize for the pictures. We were so hungry, I almost forgot to take photos. Also, everything was SUPER GOOD plates were being cleared in record time!

Here are the items I *managed* to document:
Insalata Caprese
This is the reason I wanted to go back to Buon Giorno. It is super super good! I know some may not understand how a simple dish of tomatoes, cheese and basil could be any good but believe me, it is GOOD! I could eat this everyday, all day!

We also got the Trio with crostini which is bread with three different dips as appetizer but like I said, I forgot to take pictures because we were so hungry! Just take my word for it: it sooooo yummy! And oh, they also give complimentary bread which we likewise enjoyed.

Next, the main courses:
The pesto pasta blew my mind! Everything was so fresh and tasty! I also loved how it does not have that bitter taste of basil which is often the case with pesto. Seriously, there's something different about their pesto, it's unlike anything I've ever tasted! I highly recommend this!
Spaghetti with meatballs! Sorry for the picture, I told you we were hungry! The fact that this is one of the first plates to be emptied is testament to how tasty it is!
Vegetarian pizza-- yummy! I know I'm repeating myself but it's super good because everything is so fresh! You can taste how sweet all the vegetables are and properly cooked the crust is. I also like that the cheese is not too salty. It did not overpower the pizza and the natural taste of the vegetables took center stage.

Mare Pesto/Seafood pizza! Again, everything was so fresh and the crust was crunchy and super good!

We also ordered the Chicken risotto which was a total hit, I didn't get to take a picture!

Now, for dessert!
From left, clockwise: molten chocolate cake, tiramisu, blueberry cheesecake

The Molten chocolate cake--this was our favorite! It was not too sweet and the chocolate was divine! (This coming from a non-chocolate lover!)
The tiramisu was so-so. Not memorable at all. But then, I haven't had a tiramisu that I LOVED so maybe this one's relative. A tiramisu-loving person may be a better judge :P

...and the cheesecake! Again, it's not spectacular. Or maybe I just have high standards for my cheesecake. Still, not bad. Not bad at all.

I was so surprised when the crew surprised me with a song and panna cotta. It was super sweet of them! They asked me to write on their guest book as well, which of course, I gladly did. After all, I really did enjoy my dining experience with them :)

Again, thank you to the staff, chef and owner of Buon Giorno! You made my birthday super special! See you again soon!
