Paperweight

Lately, I've been gravitating towards creams and browns. I think maybe it's because Christmas is nearing and those colors remind me of the season (think: caramels, creme puffs, chocolate, etc.)--yup, I know, it's weird for me to associate Christmas with food but that's how my brain is wired so my apologies :P

This outfit is a product of one of those days when you have no idea what to wear so you end up throwing on whatever you think works well together.

Initially, I wanted to look casual, hence the plain sleeveless top and shorts, but then it started to rain so I pulled out a blazer. Then I realized I looked corporate already so I grabbed some pearls, changed bags and voila: an outfit.
I'm really statisfied with how my outfit turned out. I love it when I get to wear my corporate clothes on weekends. That's one reason my work clothes are always on the "funky" side, co'z I want to be able to wear them outside of work.
I entitled this entry Paperweight because 1) The corporate feel reminds of all the paperworks that are left undone on my desk and 2) because I suddenly found myself remembering how, one time, I sang Joshua Radin's Paperweight for a boy. Beautiful song.
Sorry for the messy hair. I pulled out my ponytail and I ended up with a crow's nest.
"Been up all night, staring at you,
wondering what's on your mind.
I've been this way with so many before,
But this feels like the first time".

Hope everyone is having a great vacation! Soon it'll be back to work, back to school, back to reality for us all. So savor every moment while it lasts!

  3. Hahaha! Never thought to think Christmas that way, usually it's associated with white, red and green, but come to think of it, you're rite! About Christmas and food, I mean...
