MYOH `09 Update

Every year, Havaianaticos go ga-ga over this event. Actually, I haven't been to any of the previous Make Your Own Havaianas events and sadly I still wasn't able to go to this year's event. But, lucky for us, my lovely cousin went there for me and made us (my sisters, my mom, and I) several pairs. I just wanted to share the really cool pins she got for our Havs. These are the Pinoy pins I was talking about. Sorry for the blurriness of some of the pins, I tried my best to take pictures of it. Hehe. Anyway, here goes..

LVM (hihi.)

Mamang Sorbetero, ano'ng ngalan mo? Tinda mong ice cream gustong-gusto ko!

I can hear Bamboo singing proudly ;)

Beep beep beep beep!

Ain't it cute how Havs found a way for Noypis to profess their undying love for the Philippines even if it's no longer June 12?

Topshop Private Sale

Last Wednesday I got a text from "RSSI" telling me that I am invited to the Topshop/TopMan/Dorothy Perkins Sale on July 3, 12pm to 6pm which will be held in three different venues (but I only remember Shangri-la). How silly of me to think that it would just be the regular sale Topshop holds..it was one of those Private Sales! The one where they put huge black curtains up on their windows to keep the event really private and a saleslady stands by the door (sometimes with a guard) holding a guest list!!

I was really bummed out when I got a text from my sister telling me that it looked so nice. I felt much more bummed out when I remembered that the text said that old stuff will be 50% off while new products will have 10% off, especially since I've been eyeing an old product, a jersey boyfriend blazer, on the Topshop site! (I don't see it in our stores anymore but they still have it online.)

I'm wishing that I'd still get invited the next time Topshop holds another private sale. Really, how silly of me to overlook the part about the RSSI being the only one giving out invites. It didn't occur to me that it was a private sale because I usually get texts from other stores about their sales and new product arrivals too. (Yes, I'm fond of filling up their 'valued customer' forms or guest books. Hehe.)

So PK girls, let this be a warning to all of you. Next time, read the invites well! Hehe.

Spend Spend Spend

My sister was telling my mom a few days ago that President GMA said in a speech that we should all "SPEND SPEND SPEND" (while imitating GMA's infamous look when she talks..hehe.) So I went shopping. Online window shopping, that is. Here are some beautiful stuff I chanced upon.. *Sigh* If I were an ultra rich girl.. Haha!

And so my fixation with booties continue. If only wearing boots in Pinas wasn't such a hassle..

Since the trend shades right now are of the neutral palette, think khakis and creams, one must let her bag do the talking!

Still on the said 'neutral' trend, you can also add a pop of color through your shoes. Black sandals with ingenious designs such as mesh and animal skin (faux, we hope) will surely add zest to your ensemble.

Okay, time to get back to reality.. :)

Movie month!

I know how all the PK girls are starting to get REALLY busy with school but if you have some free time (or if you plan to make some free time for some 'cinema bonding'), why don't you go and see these flicks which are opening this month..

Real Gossip Girl?

Ugh. I can't believe they really did it.

Rumors were circulating about a reality show that was the "real" Gossip Girl life. I didn't think it would push through with all the negative feedback it has been getting but apparently, NY Prep makes its debut in the States this week! Ugh!

It's still in its experimental stage being dubbed as a "docuseries" but I think they'll turn it into a full reality show in the months to come. Gosh.

Anyway, let me introduce you to the interesting(?) characters of the show:

Peter "PC" Peterson, 18
PC could be watching a lot of GG because he fits Chuck Bass' jerky character to a tee! It's no surprise when he revealed that he dreams to be an actor. Well, this heir could very well do what we wants as he gets a lot of green from his billionaire grandfather.

Jessie Leavitt, 17
Jessie is a snobby fashionista who boasts that, "I've had a personal sales associate at Barneys since I was 13." (air headed much?) She also brags that her mom has never worked a day in her life. Jessie shares a little bit of Blair with her preference for bad boys, which in this case is, PC. But if you ask PC, he thinks Jessie is the prep school bitch (yah right! but these two apparently had a past together).

Kelli Tomashoff, 17
Kelli is an aspiring singer and she and her mom thinks the show is the perfect avenue to showcase her talent. We'll see a little bit of Serena Van der Woodsen in her as she lives with her older brother in an upper east side apartment without supervision. Her parents live in the Hamptons, dropping in once a week for dinner. She claims that "we don't do homework", "we don't work". (Oh yeah, co'z your too posh for that *rolls eyes*)

Sebastian Oppenheim, 16
The show's very own Nate Archibald, Sebastian has a way with the ladies (oh really?). He is the son of movie producer dad and a french mom. He looks like a model and uses his french to impress the ladies. He doesn't go to NYC like the other preppies, he attends a private school in East Hampton. He says that his current goal is to have sex with as many girls as possible. "Why date one girl when you can hook up with a bunch?" (ugh!)

Taylor DiGiovanni, 15
The show's Jenny Humphrey, Taylor is not as rich as her East Side counterparts. She doesn't even go to the same school! Taylor is a public school girl that producers decided to add to the mix. I mean hey, the rich and poor don't mix well but they do make good television!

HERE'S MY FAVORITE! (yeah right) *drumroll*

Camille Hughes, 16
Camille has her future perfectly planned out like our favorite, Queen Blair. She's an overachiever with a solid plan for her future which includes going to Harvard, marrying rich and having kids. Hmmm... something about this girl ain't right. I think it's the headband. It's too Blair! She might deny it but I think she watches too much Gossip Girl.

I wonder if this show will rate well in the States. I know, it's ridiculous but then who knows? We all thought Paris Hilton's My New BFF was ridiculous too but then everyone started to get hooked on the show. Ha, the irony :P

I guess it's too early to judge. Who knows, if NY Prep finds its way to Manila, I *might* even become a big fan (nyay).

One thing I'm totally not digging are their overall looks. They might be rich but they are so far from our favorite GG guys and girls.
