Two weekends ago, I was determined to cook lunch. But my cooking skills (or lack thereof) are limited to learning to master the art of frying, frying and frying. Haha. So here's what I decided to cook...er, fry..
PLUS
AND
RICE
So basically, that's everything I needed plus EVOO and cooked rice (to mix with the garlic and crunchy garlic).
What to do:
1. Fry fry fry the bangus tocino |
2. Make garlic rice
(or do what I do most of the time, sprinkle the crunchy garlic on cooked rice because I love the strong flavor and the crunch)
3. Deep fry the tofu (2-3 minutes) then strain excess oil by placing the fried tofu on kitchen towel tissue (like so on so).
4. Leave a teaspoonful of the oil you deep fried the tofu with, combine with 2 spoonfuls of the garlic oyster sauce and heat it.
5. Combine the tofu and the heated garlic oyster sauce
5. Combine the tofu and the heated garlic oyster sauce
Finished products:
Semi-burnt bangus tocino. Told you I'm still mastering the techniques of frying. Hehehe. But most pieces weren't burnt and I must say, the bangus tocino was DE-LI-CIOUS! |
Bite-sized tofu. Crunchy outside, soft yet firm inside. |
The Verdict:
I finished the tofu bits all by myself. But we weren't able to finish the whole pack of tocino so there were leftovers for dinner.
All I can say is that I'm enjoying experimenting how to cook. My wish, however, is to learn as soon as possible so I won't waste food ;)
Congratulations on your successful attempt! I'm at the attempting stage, too, haha and I can't even fry to save my life.
ReplyDeleteThank you thank you! I almost gave up because the oil kept on popping and splattering! Haha.
