WHO goes Chic!

After PETA pioneered "fashionable campaigning" with their "I'd rather go naked that wear fur" series, campaigns have started to become more "in fashion".

As we celebrate today, as World NO tobacco day, let me share with you the World Health Organization's 2010 campaign posters:

Eeep! I didn't even notice her leg! I was already smitten by her stunning face!
Wow. This model knows how to look straight into the camera.
What? At first glance I thought she was wearing a neck piece!

I don't know if it's just me but these posters blew me away! I love them! They were so artistically done, they come off as troubling! lol! :P Really, the image sticks in your head-- which is a good sign! Definitely a memorable campaign!

This year's campaign targets women and I really think they hit it bulls eye! Love it, love it, love it!

Happy World NO tobacco day girls! I really, really hope none of you smokes. If only to convince you a little... smoking gives you B.O. --'nuff said :P

Smoothness in a box

Since I discovered the (painful) joy of waxing, I've been waxing eversince. You know I use Strip It's Sugar wax but because I ran out of stock and I was too lazy to go out and pay via gcash/bank deposit, I decided to just get a box of Veet wax strips instead.

The box contains 12 strips all in all and as you can see, each is as big as my hand. Like what I do with Strip It, I cut the wax strips into smaller pieces to lessen the pain. Sorry didn't get to take a pic, but just imagine it cut crosswise.

Sooo... let's go to its pros and cons!

PROS: So easy to use! No more sticky applications, no excess wax, no prep time needed!

CONS: A little expensive, since the strips can only be used once and they are only enough for both legs, the price of php229.75 does not give good value for your money. Compared with Strip It which costs less then 300 bucks per tub and could last you for more than 4 waxing sessions, then I say, go for Strip It!
Also, for some reason the hair grows back faster. I'm only in my second week and already I can see it growing back. This comes as a surprise co'z I'm used to waiting for at least three weeks to a month before they start to regrow. *sigh*

Anywaaaaay, this isn't supposed to be a comparison of the two. It's just that I can't help it! In the end, I say, I'm still a Strip It girl but for times of extreme need, then Veet is the next best thing! :)

So with what's left of summer, I wish you all "smoothness" everyday!

Movie Review: The Last Song

"When my world is fall-ing apaaart! And there's noooo light to break up the daaaark! That's when I! Aaaaaaaah..I! I look at youuuuuu!" *ehem ehem*

I cannot tell you just how addicted I am to that song! It only took a morning and Miley on loop for me to memorize it. Hahaha!

I'm not really a big Miley fan-- I don't even like her that much but this song, and her overall appearance(?) on the vid has got me wanting to see the movie! --and so I did!

The plot of the movie is very simple. The girl is a rebel, product of a broken family, who had to "painstakingly" spend her summer with her Dad in the country. Then there's the boy-- the typical jock: appealing, impressive (you will know with his achievements in the movie) and extremely persistent. In short, it's a love story.

But the one thing that differed this from The Notebook and Dear John is the fact that although it is a love story, it isn't as mushy. The focus of the film shifted to Ronnie (Miley's character) and her dad's relationship-- and that's where the water works start. Let me just leave you with this little spoiler: the song "When I look at you" is not for her 'boyfriend', it's for her dad :)

I say overall the film was so-so. Yes, it stuck to the traditional Sparks way of storytelling. And yes, the buckets of tears were there but it wasn't as moving as his other films (Think: The Notebook). Also, I am torn on how to react to Miley's acting. I mean, the personality of her character was so her, she hardly had to "act" but I don't know... she just looks... stupid. I even want to strangle myself for wanting to see the film so bad. Should've just waited for the dvd instead. Blah.

PK rating: 6/10

Hooray Kenny!

I'm not a big fan of having things delivered that I don't really have a good idea which restaurants' delivery service is good or not. Blame it on my 'naivety' when it comes to deliveries but I honestly think Kenny Rogers' Delivery service is amazing!

1. They have an online delivery system!
This I find extremely cool! Everything is laid out in front of you and all you have to do is click! I love this option because you see the entire menu plus you get to customize your order without having to get things mixed up as the case when you phone in your order.

2. Fast confirmation of orders!
I was actually fidgeting the whole time while waiting for the phone confirmation of my order. I regretted ordering online, thinking their system may be down or something but after 5 minutes, I got the call! *phew!

3. Prompt delivery!
The girl on the other line said I'd be receiving my order in 45 minutes but it only took about 30 minutes for it to arrive. Love it!

Woot! As you can I see, I am an extremely pleased customer :) It's my first time to try the online delivery option and since I found so easy and effective, I think I would be ordering online more now. Hihi :P

p.s. sorry for the scarcity of posts. We've been extremely busy. So sorry!

Have you tasted this: Juicy Fruit Strawberry

Here goes another of my "great grocery finds"!

Have you tasted this?
Juicy Fruit Strawberry

I was surprised to see Juicy fruit with flavor. I mean, w-h-y? I don't really see the need to go into 'individual' fruit flavors. I mean, it's not even original. Oh well.

It doesn't taste bad but I say I like the original more.

How 'bout you girls, have you tasted this?
