Parisian Chic

I used to finish reading 2 books in a day. But now, I find it hard to finish reading one novel in a month. :|

Reading and finishing fashion related books in one sitting, however, are a different story. Here's my latest fashion related read:

The book discusses how one can dress like a Parisienne. Ines (yes, first name basis! haha) enumerates the items every 'Parisian chic' girl must have. One example is a navy cashmere sweater.

She also gives you a ton of shops (clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, home decor, restaurants) to go to when in Paris. She even divulged her best kept secret shops.

It's such a treat to read but I warn you though that this book will awaken (or reawaken, for some) one's desires to travel to Paris and live there! It made me feel (and, I admit, envy) how easy and positive Parisiennes view life! They prefer simpler things, opting for cleaner, sophisticated items over flashy, ostentatious ones.

Ahh..I can't wait to lounge around at Place des Vosges while snacking on a croissant and people watching. But until then, I have to settle for the Parisian Chic by Ines de la Fressange. Feel like getting a copy? Head to the nearest National Bookstore and buy your own style guide now :)

  1. I read tons of books about Parisien style, too! Love it, but of course, I never really practiced it in real life. For example: save your money to buy one high quality bag that you can carry for years. Good in theory, but with so many drolling fun styles out there, who can help but going out there and buy 4 or 5 more affordable bags that you can carry for a year or two, then toss away! lol

  2. I want the book! I like the way it was done -- glossy pages, chic shots, great layout. I'm reading How to Walk in High Heels. :)
