Mustard

Mustard Blazer - Crissa
Brown dress shirt - Seventeen
Black shorts (worn underneath) - from BKK
Brown belt with gold detail - Celine
Black wedge sandals - Charles & Keith
Brown purse - Oleg Cassini

Oh that Mustard-y feeling! hahaha! (I'm trying to associate chic-ness to the word mustard, haha. fail!) Felt a bit on the classy side this day so I decided to wear this shiny mustard blazer. Since it was a weekend and I still wanted to dress relaxed, I paired it with it with a mini dress and shorts (underneath). Grabbed my “adult” bag, slipped on some patent leather wedges and I’m off to go!

Carmina Villaroel: the shoe designer

Well, well, well, what do we have here? Looks like Carmina Villaroel adds another title to her name: Carmina, the shoe designer!

Carmina recently launched her own line of shoes called Muñiz shoes:

I absolutely adore this photo! Can you believe it's all Carmina??
Check out some of my favorites from her line:
love the finish on this shoe! love it more because I can wear it to the Office!
Ooooh, so sexy! I am soooo loving this one!
Wow, the heel is so eye catching!

Yummy yellow! S, here's the shoe you've been looking for!
I am so excited for Carmina! Designing shoes has been a dream of mine, except I don't really have that kind of creativity for it :P

Poker Face..

Back in the day when PSPs, iPads, and iPod touch were non-existent, people used to play cards to pass time. Not only am I for tradition, I'm also for interaction. So, to entice you to choose playing cards over handheld game consoles (even if it's just for the coming holidays) I took pictures of our recently purchased playing cards:

I also want to share a snapshot of a deck of cards that some of you might be familiar with...

Are your poker faces ready yet? :)

The opposite of revenge..

Was pleasantly surprised to see Nin's previous outfit post and got a flashback of one of my outfits that I got too shy to share...
Same concept, down to the knot ;)

Wearing a Forever 21 cropped top that's a bit too big for me, a Topshop lace skirt, a random statement necklace, and Schu wedges.

Looks like the two miss fits still think alike even if they haven't been around each other for quite some time. Haha, I guess that's my way of saying that I miss you, Nin! See you soon? :)

Grilled Ham and Three Cheese on Italian Country Bread

Whenever time allows, I drop by Starbucks to get breakfast before I head to work. Of course I get coffee and, if it is available, my favorite sandwich…

Nin and I love cheese! That's why I consider the said sandwich as comfort food. I lost the list where I wrote down the three types of cheese they use for this. But thanks to the wonder that is the internet, I searched (and found!) that it contains Lyoner, Emmenthal, and Mozzarella. I have to admit, I'm no cheese expert and I think this sandwich was my first encounter with two of the 3 cheeses listed but I tell ya, the combination creates A PIECE OF HEAVEN. It's so good, you have to try it! How ironic that the proof of its goodness is that I was so excited to heat and eat it that I forgot to take a picture of the toasted slice. You see, I usually order this to go but I ask the barista to warm it for me, this time I asked them not to warm it so I can take a picture of the packaging first.

Anywaaay, what are you waiting for? Why don't you go to the nearest Starbucks and try it! But please don't hoard, be kind and leave a piece for me to purchase!

Revenge is Sweeter the Second time

Top: Seventeen; Bandage skirt: Revenge Fork; Shoes: Charles & Keith; Bag: thrifted
Was feeling lazy to dress up so I grabbed the first thing I saw in my closet— which in this case was the bandage skirt. Didn’t feel like going down the sexy/made up route so I paired it with a loose shirt that I knotted at the side and my really comfy wedged sandals. As always, I had to add that “one unique item” that is often my trademark, hence the fringed bag. I love this look a lot because it’s easy and comfy but still looks so prettyyyyy! haha :)

I really, really love this skirt I got from Revenge Fork. The brand is a bit out of circulation right now but I'm hoping it'd be back in business because I want more of their skirts! It's just so unique and pretty, I got a lot of stares at the mall because of it. I also love how versatile and comfy it is! Really, this skirt is one of my most favorite pieces of clothing. It's so very me! haha

p.s. sorry for my annoyed expression. Was irritated with my cousin that time.

Starbucks Planner 2011

I made a promise to myself that I won't collect stickers this year. I dunno, I just figured that I need to save money (for Christmas gifts!!!) and I need to lose weight. Hehe. Luckily, my sister collected stickers for me and got this yesterday...

I'm out of words so I'll let the pictures do the talking..

Just fold and snap! Longchamp Le Pliage and more..

Just wanted to share with you these delightful and 'affordable' designer bags more commonly known as Longchamp. You know how those envirobags are foldable and easy to stash in your other bag? Well they weren't the first of their kind. In 1993, the owners of Longchamp launched the Le Pliage bags (which means fold in French) made of nylon and leather. Almost 2 decades later, its classic style is still taking the world by storm.

Here are some Le Pliages we have amassed unknowingly...

'fresh from the store' folded Le Pliage shopping bag in Black
overused Le Pliage shopping bag in Praline (or is this pink? I can't tell anymore)
overexposed picture of slightly abused Le Pliage shopping bag in Bilberry
So, obviously, we're partial to the long straps and not-too-big-not-too-small frame for our everyday bags. Anyway, the next two bags are part of the Planetes line (if I remember correctly). The Planetes line emulates the style of Le Pliage but the nylon used for the body of the bag is thicker and the leather used for the straps and flap vary. The other visible difference between the two lines is that you cannot fold the Planetes the same way you would a Le Pliage.

Black Planetes bag

Ebony Planetes bag with Crocodile-embossed leather
Although Longchamp has other lines, I believe these two are the most popular.
What to love about these bags: Lightweight, roomy, classic, not as expensive as other designer bags
What makes the bag imperfect: Pocket/compartments... It only has one so to compensate, I use several pouches for easier access to my stuff.

How about you, care to share your own growing Longchamp collection? Are you thinking about getting one (or more)? :)

Share my outfit day: Red, Blue, and Stripes

It's obvious, I'm obsessing over red and blue and stripes lately. On top of that is my penchant for bows especially when they're found on tops. I think maybe it's the season. Like I'm subconsciously channeling Mrs. Claus or one of the elves. Lol!

Upside, downside

Was at the mall yesterday and decided to get my favorite frozen yoghurt for merienda. Got my favorite "Baker's Hat" from White Hat and was happily enjoying my cup until I bit into the cheesecake pieces which tasted like stale cheese! Yuck! We immediately alerted the staff about it but they would not believe us, saying that, that was actually how cheesecake should taste like. Uhm? Hello? It's not like it's our first time to eat cheesecake okay? We know how it's supposed to taste like and seriously, it was not supposed to taste like that!

Was incredibly annoyed with the experience. Other stores would have immediately replaced the item. I can't believe how White Hat treat their customers, I didn't expect that coming from them. I mean, it's not like they're small time or something.

We just transferred all the cheesecake bits into another cup. Ugh, that's still 20php down the drain. So unfair! It's not our fault their cheesecake is spoiled right?
This is a lesson for all business establishments. It doesn't matter if your product is really good-- the best even, if your staff isn't accommodating to customers, your business will still suffer. With that said, I don't think I'd be visiting White Hat anytime soon.

On a lighter note, check out my cameo on Friday's Philippine Star:

Thanks for the cameo Pepper! You've been very consistent in featuring us. haha :)

Look what came in the mail: L'oreal White Perfect

S and I were invited to L'oreal's Black and White Event for the launch of their two newest products: the White Perfect Moisturizing Day Cream and Pure & Matte Charcoal Foam Cleanser for men. Since we had work that day, we didn't get to attend the event. Boo us. But good thing, Mikki from L'oreal sent us press kits instead! Yey! Thanks Mikki!

I know, it looks so jumbled and you might not notice it at first but the real star of this package comes in a white box:
A product sample of their White Perfect Moisturizing Cream!

...and it couldn't come at a most perfect time! I am actually about to buy a moisturizer but since L'oreal sent me this, I guess I'd saving eight hundred bucks this month! haha :P

I just don't like that it's in a tub co'z I hate double-dipping. I've always felt it was kind of unhygienic. Hoped it came in a squeeze tube or pump bottle instead. But nevertheless, I still feel so excited to try the product! I just hope I don't break out co'z that's often the case with me and mainstream brands.

(update after trying on the cream):
Well, so far so good! At first I got alarmed that I felt a little bit of itchiness on my cheeks but after a while it subsided which makes me think it was just my subconscious playing tricks on me. Lol!

Again, thank you L'oreal!

Sesame grilled chicken and stir-fried asparagus with wild mushrooms plus dessert!

Used several recipes from the book I bought a few months back. Since I have very little cooking experience, I chose the easy-to-do-recipes.

1. Sesame Grilled Chicken
What you need:
Boneless chicken breast
Lots and lots of garlic
2tbsp soy sauce

What you do:
Marinate chicken in soy sauce and garlic
Combine sesame and grapeseed oil and grill chicken (3-4 minutes per side)

2. Steamed asparagus with stir-fried mushroom
What you need:

Salt, pepper, 1 tsp garlic, and extra virgin olive oil

What you do:
Clean the mushrooms appropriately

Stir-fry the mushrooms in EVOO
Add garlic and 1 tbsp rice wine or water and wait for 2 minutes

Microwave (steam) asparagus in water with salt for 2 minutes

Combine the mushrooms with asparagus

Serve with:
Brown rice --cook in rice cooker! :)

3. Dessert
This, I think, was too much to ask from me so my sister just brought out the
Cara Mia Banana Blast ice cream cake
Nomnomnom. All in all, my first attempt to cook real food was a success. Yey!
